Over 250 More Green Homes Now Labeled in LA County
The Green Label Rebate Program was launched in July 2011 to encourage homeowners to go beyond energy-only retrofits and get a GreenPoint Rated Label for their home -- which addresses additional health and environmental benefits such as water conservation and improved indoor air quality - by providing rebates for making the required upgrades. The GreenPoint Rated Label is the mark of quality for green home upgrades, verifying that a home has been upgraded to proven green standards. Los Angeles County has surpassed the original goal of 200 Green Label projects thanks to overwhelmingly positive response from both homeowners and contractors.
Although the rebate program has ended, you can still make the upgrades to get GreenPoint Rated. Visit the GreenPoint Rated website for more information on the label. Los Angeles County also encourages homeowners to take advantage of other incentives -- up to $4,500 -- available through Energy Upgrade California, which will continue well into the future.
About Energy Upgrade California
Energy Upgrade California in Los Angeles County is administered and overseen by an alliance among L.A. County, Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Company and the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Los Angeles County was one of the first counties in California to roll out this program. Locally, the program provides homeowners with information on home upgrade benefits, available financing, incentives and rebates, and help with finding participating contractors.
